New Site for Business Student, but ads aren't relevant

    Howdy!

I've recently created www (dot) eastmeetsmidwest (dot) com to talk to other business students about my thoughts in business.

I'm trying to make some money off of adsense, atleast enough to pay off the web hosting costs.

Currently, even though I have content my adds still are based around things like RSS feeds, or sunglasses. What I want are business school related ads. If I were to do section blocking where should I do something like that on my sight.

Thanks for any help. All comments are welcome, the don't have to be just about adsense.

    Hi TylerB,

nice to see other young folks around :) Welcome to DP!

The first tip I can give you is to use section targeting: http://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/answer.py?answer=23168&topic=371 Just put it around the news tables.

Moreover avoid to publish off topic content, just like your "BugEyes?" entry. Keep your articles focused on business and business schools.

Furthermore get yourself in several directories using keywords like "business school" in your website title: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=25

    Good luck mate!

Thanks for the help so far. I went to your link and I signed up for as many as I could. Then I went to www.se-tools.com and used their tools to help fix some of my stuff. After that, I used the sectioning tips to setup the content on my site. However, I will have to wait a bit for the spiders to recognize it I suppose.
