New Social Network (Beta Testers)

I've seen a social network in the works for over 2 years, and it look they are about ready to open to the public in less than 2 months now. They are temporarily open for beta testers to give very constructive feedback. There are still MANY bugs on the site, and some key features missing, which are being worked on constantly until they open.

Why not give it a try? https://whatwide.com
Check their Twitter, they sometimes post updates, too - @Whatwide

It reminds me of a hybrid of Facebook and TSU in the design and functionality. I will check it out for sure, thanks for sharing this. :)

Yeah there's always that questions of "How is this different than - " or "What makes it stand out - "
I mean I wish I could answer that but I'm not the one who runs the network, but I have spoken to the team and they claim they want to utilize well-known features from different networks (I guess that's where some design comes from??) and enhance these features for optimal use to create a 'center point' network. I mean in my opinion it's a big goal, but hey, we'll see I guess?

Some other people gave feedback on the point of it looking like a Facebook type platform but without all the unnecessary features.
I believe their target audience is teens, primarily young teens because of the part of the network like Ask.fm, flooded with young teenagers.

I think they could hit the nail on the head and hit it big, but there's going to be a lot of work cut out for them.
