You need a differentiating factor for your site, else it will die a slow death. Offering credit and money is fine, it will work for a while. It's like offering a bribe - people will end up using your site only for obtaining credit. It won't work in the long run.

You need to focus your network on a narrower niche, so that it gains an identity of its own. For example, see my site it's a physics network, it's based on Elgg 1.5. There is a definite direction and focus to the site. Only certain people (physicists, physics students) will join it. It's not growing as fast as your site, but it will be around for a long time.

Ideally, you need to do something similar with your site. Find something you're passionate about, and build your site around it. Do not think about monetizing the site in the short-term. Good luck!

 

is this is one of the short live social network u will see in the future? man to operate a social network need lots of resource, once u got million hits your hosting will jam and u will see pile and pile of hosting bills

 

Very true. Most social networks (and most websites, too!) die before they ever take off. It takes a lot of effort and perseverance, not to mention resourcefulness in order to be successful.

Capital is really short in social networking, especially since no one has been really able to solve the monetization problem. Once the bills start piling up, it's a struggle to get funds. Venture capitalists ahoy!

I tend to jump on any social networking site that has a PR and hope I can create an account and drop a link somewhere. I have no idea if it gets picked up but at this point feels like its worth a shot since google seems to be valuing any social site with great relevancy.
