    Dear Respectful One,

Permit me to inform you of my desire of going into business relationship
with you. I got your contact from the International web site directory. I
prayed over it and selected your name among other names due to it's
esteeming nature and the recommendations given to me as a reputable and
trust worthy person I can do business with and by their recommenddations I
must not hesitate to confide in you for this simple and sincere business.

I am JANE SMITH, the only Daughter of late Mr and Mrs SMITH. My father was a
very wealthy cocoa Farmer and cocoa merchant in (Zanu PF) Budiriro, the
economic city of Zimbabwe before he was killed to death by his pollitical
associates on one of their outing to make pollitical dialoug. When my mother
died on the 21st October 1990, my father took me and my younger brother
peter special because we are motherless.
Before the death of my father on 2nd Feb 2002 in a private hospital here in
Budiriro. He secretly called me on his bedside and told me that he has a sum
of $10.5m (Ten Million, five hundred thousand dollars) left in a suspense
account in a local Bank in Abidjan, the capital of cote d ivorie that he
used my name as his first Daughter for the next of kin in deposit of the
fund. He also explained to me that I should seek for a God fearing foreign
partner in a country of my choice where I will transfer this money and use
it for investment purpose, (such as real estate management).
Sir, we are honourably seeking your assistance in the following ways.

    1) To provide a Bank account where this money would be transferred to.

    2) To serve as the guardian of this since I am a smail girl Moreover
Sir, we are willing to offer you 20% of the sum as compensation for effort
input after the successful transfer of this fund to your designate account
    overseas.

Anticipating to hear from you soon.

Thanks and God Bless. Best regards.
    Miss JANE SMITH .

I think it is big scam going on

I saw one funny story about a Nigerian con man who got trapped of his own trick. Before he could milk his supposed victims, he was asked to paint something on his body and send a photo as proof of joining a group. His face is revealed. Too bad I can't find that story!

He told me his name, I searched rapidly through my mails & saw it was those nigerian emails. I talked for like 10-15 mins made as if I was interested !! :D Asked the person if he could send me more details (he actually sent me some mins after hanging up the phone!!!)
All I can say is... they are sooo dumb! :D

There's a couple of fantastic websites where these idiots are strung along and made to do some funny things to "prove" they are honourable etc.

    Ladsfromlagos.com

411eater.com used to be one but it's been replaced by a generic search page now

Do you mean 419eater.com? There are some hilarious stories in the letters section and the forums too. :) Nothing like reading about some scammer lads going on safari to get money (or so they think) from their "maga", strange initiations to made-up (by scambaiters) churches, etc. I highly recommend this site to anyone who needs some laughs during slow times at work. However, it does have a chance to "eat" up one's whole day and night on a regular basis. :)
