Newsletter application/tool

I'm looking for a stand-alone newsletter application, preferably php-mysql. I found a database-less tool: OpenNewsletter. I presume also that there are a number of plugins to CMS packages, but could you suggest/comment on any other newsletter software that you use and trust?
    Thanks.

Can you suggest open source scripts? Commercial alternatives are less customisable than open-source ones (cost is irrelevant because I usually donate to the latter if it is good).
    Thanks again.

    Can PHPlist now send auto-responders?

PHPlist has so many good features but misses this one that is crucial to me. I need to be able to send a sequence of pre-written messages to every new subscriber on a defined schedule.

I have found Infinite Responder does this but it lacks all the good features PHPlist has...

Do you know of any other OS script like PHPlist that has this auto-responder feature?

    Hello,

Today I searched a bit and found a script called Email Marketing Assistant (www.emailmarketingassistant.com) which seems to have what I need so I'll try that.

Just wanted to know if anybody has had any experience with the free version of this script?
