No PayPal Fees for Getting Chitika Payment?

Discussion in 'Chitika' started by wrmineo, Jan 13, 2006.

I just got my first paypal payment from Chitika and noticed I wasn't charged a fee?

I've never seen this when getting other payments, even from larger companies.

I'm not complaining, but wondering; what gives?

    Thanks.

I find it to be this way with a few companies. For example both Sedo and Linkworth payments are not charged fees. I read this in some companies FAQ a while ago, something about a special account they have with PayPal I believe.

Even I am surprised to see that Paypal didn't charge me for the transfer.

Chitika likely uses PayPal's MassPay feature. That enables merchants to pay a ton of people at once more easily. PayPal charges the merchant 2% (with max $0.25) of the total pay and the recipients (us) get 100% of what was sent to us.

Paypal only charge when the money transfer is from bank account/creditcard. If you are transfering money from your paypal account(ie when the money is in your paypal account) to other person's paypal account, then they dont' charge money.

That's not true. I get charged all the time when transferring money between PayPal accounts. Anyhoo, Chitika explains why we don't get charged on their blog.

The normal personal account does not have a receiving fee. Business and Upgraded accounts get charged.

Not if the transfer is made with existing funds....There is also a limit (Something like $500)

THis exception is not what Chitika is using
