Nominations requested: Most helpful DP member

Discussion in 'General Chat' started by minstrel, May 14, 2005.

In the course of some discussions here, it has been suggested that DP members (or some of them anyway) like polls and that we should create a new one with the title/subject

    "Most Helpful DigitalPoint Member"

Nominations are requested for members you would like to see on that list.

One that came to mind immediately for me is McDar.

Off the top of my head, I'd probably add SEbasic to that list.

    Who else?

There's a coder around here that does PHP that is helpful and another guy that seems to be good at mod rewrite stuff. The names escape me, but the threads will pop up and I'll make a note.

Design Agent has helped me a lot, so he would have to be on the list, there are many others, Shawn puts up with a lot of crap from all of us and still takes time out that he does not have to deal with us. :)

Believe it or not Compar is very helpful to the forum, just look at the research he has done in his thread with McDar who is also great.

SE & TOPS & Syncmaster also do a great job in going out of their way to help others.

You will have to separate the helpful from the nice folks though Minstrel, we were originally talking about nice people  :p

PS: Hold on to your chair Minstrel, you and Mushroom have helped a lot of folks here also, now please separate the helpful from the nice folks please.

You had to take this thing off course hu

Yeah but the definition of "nice" is too subjective... I changed it to "helpful".

Yeah but we were talking about folks that are kind and helpful that don't get the attention that the brash and helpful might.

Now you see how this gets back to including the mean attention getting folks when you use the word helpful

Okay... then maybe the topic of the poll should be "Unsung Heroes of DigitalPoint"?

Maybe, but the original idea is better, because kind folks sort of live in the background and in most cases are just trying to be helpful without sensationalism, Bernard could be considered another one of those people.

PS: Michael & Dominic are a couple more who always do the same.

Maybe we should just take it for granted we have a good place and stop trying to stroke each others egos? :gay:

No way. I said in another thread, the Coop Rep Network has got noppid's back:

    1. I like his twisted sense of humor and this forum could always use more humor

    2. I'm being nice to him until I can figure out what he's up to :D

Yeah I guess you are right Minstrel, but those coders and programmers are a very odd lot, some into hard drugs and heavy Satan worship

Be very careful with these types

You don't have a chance since Minstrel is going to sneak the mean people in the poll now, it is just his way (helpful members) of getting himself in the run :)

This is sort of like an election with a Bush involved, rigged before it happens

I wouldnt want to feature in any poll, unless it was "how much money do you feel like donating to DA?" with compulsory donations..

I have a tactic for all the dp ego heads like minnie.. Im just going to post a thread with their name in the title.. that usually keeps them tied up for a few days.
