    Advertising (learn more)

Advertise virtually anything here, with CPM banner ads, CPM email ads and CPC contextual links. You can target relevant areas of the site and show ads based on geographical location of the user if you wish.

Starts at just $1 per CPM or $0.10 per CPC.

Not exactly swamped with clicks. Any ideas?

I've had this site up for a while. www.backyardvoyager.com I didn't create it for the purpose of making money, but threw in some adsense as a test to see if it would be worth my while to set up more sites.

This page gets more clicks than any other -- http://www.backyardvoyager.com/Saturn.html. But, with my current CTR, the site will take about five years to earn me a thousand dollars. Not quite what I had expected.

I would prefer making information-rich sites on subjects that interest me, but would also like to generate considerably more $ than the Astronomy site has. I suppose I'll have to come up with a few more popular subjects, such as celebrities or sports. I guess to keep it interesting I could make one more popular site for every two that I'm really interested in. Does it sound like I'm on the right track?

    Thanks for looking.

Put your ads where you have the red cloud picture, get rid of that you don't need it. You have a huge space at the bottom of the site better have a look at your code. I think if you move ads up to the prime real estate then you will get more clicks. Lots of good info on your site no reason why you should not be able to make more money.

Many of us have 100+ websites with Adsense Ads to help speed up that $1000 goal ;)

Also, if you want to write about something, try to make sure it is about a high-paying keyword.

I think he needs to work on this site first, get it finished up. Coming to DP is a good start. Change my telescopes to telescope reviews. Tighten up this site first learn from it then move on to the next. I don't see a whole lot of competition for backyard astronomer a little SEM and you can be top dog. Most of the Backyard astronomer sites look very amateur :D Yours is already better.

Check out the tutorial the adsense gives you. They can give you some good tips on where to place your adsense ads and how to optimize them for clicks legally.
