OMG! I'm in deep doodoo! "No reciprocal link found! - warning!

Someone has <gasp> linked to my site and I haven't given them one back! I know I didn't ask them to link to me but since they have taken the time to bury a link to my site on page 247 of their link pages, I really should feel obliged to categorize their site, add a link back and then take the time to email them with it's location, right? Especially as they have given me a warning about not linking ...

What's wrong with these people? Do these spammy emails work anymore?

I kinda agree on this one - I hate link exchange emails, but don't you think that's a bit harsh...

Especially seeing as how a lot of the people who send out link exchange request emails are a lot less experienced in SEO and are just doing what is reccomended by some of the *other*, perhaps less advanced forums out there...

Thats way over board. Freezing the whole account! Thats just abuse of power, names shouldn't be assossiated with account and should counted seperatly. Good thing I dont use GoDaddy as much as I can. Honestly this gave me a scare HEHE :D

Wow about GoDaddy blasting the alleged email spammer. I do remember reading about GoDaddy putting the hold on domains a while back after getting spam complaints but I thought things had changed a bit since then and more controls set in place to prevent GoDaddy Bowling.

It could of course be one of those 'I'm innocent, except for the abuse' protests we usually see reserved for disabled Adsense accounts. Who knows.

I actually don't mind getting an email asking me to exchange links so long as the person who's asking has actually taken the time to visit my site and provide the appropriate information of category / page, etc; and they don't mind if I choose not to link back but still leave my link on their site.

Now, that's a link request I pay attention to! Not because there may be a one-way link in it for me but because the other webmaster has actually taken the time to visit my site, do the work for themselves and most importantly, is giving me the option of linking back only if I choose to do so.
