Anyone else hear about them guys winning on betfair with the reality TV shows and they have been named, shamed and banned.

They have had there faces plastered all across the newspapers because they MIGHT have found a system.

And what if they have. If they can find a system that lets them win they should be allowed to do it with no trouble at all. It should be the bookies fault and there problem.

Its what the bookies have been doing for years. They have a system where in whole we are guaranteed to lose a certain percentage of our money. They never have a losing day because they calculate it so they dont.

Why shouldnt we be allowed to do that as well.

Seems a big con to me. One rule for them and another for everyone else.

    What do you guys think?

The problem is that a bet isn't legally binding, at least not over here in the UK. Bookies aren't obliged to give you anything other than your stake back, although obviously they try to avoid pulling fast ones because it will eventually damage their reputation and lose them customers.

I think this happens with hedge betting as well - if you have enough money to bet up front you can place the same bet at difference places with different odds and guarantee yourself a small profit no matter what the outcome. I never gamble myself though so this is just what I've heard from people who do.

I dont gamble either. I have used systems that work for me and ocasionaly i still use them but in all i am not a gambler.

I think what your talking about is arbitrage betting. Its a system where you are guaranteed to win just like the bookies. I just dont see how the bookies are allowed to make guaranteed profits but as soon as joe public finds a system he gets in deep trouble for it.

I never knew that about your first paragraph. Never heard of it but thats probably because if they done it everybody would know.
