I was just wondering what are the chances of an online clothing boutique being successful. As technology is progressing drastically, many more online boutiques are available. What are the costs like? And does anyone think it is a good idea? Any comments on real life clothing stores now using the internet to sell clothes such as Zara.

 

They're I believe quite an easy business, especially with all the many producers offering drop-shipping services. All the more lucrative considering that a growing number of Asian companies are advertising their produce online, giving quite discounted wholesale prices to merchants (e.g. a blouse that'd sell for $14.95 in North America can be bought (wholesale) for $2.25 from a Chinese manufacturer).

As to expenses, these are minimal -- web site hosting, a shopping cart (dozens of free, open-source available) and of course ,an initial capital to acquire stock (if drop-shipping is not an option) and for advertising purposes, like anywhere else, is needed.

 

It will take a lot of work and a sizable amount of cash (read milions) to compete against big names .

But whit some serious market skills you can launch a store and get a profit of about 1000$ per day . You will need a crack shot team to succeed .

 

Dear why don't you register your boutique to some reliable wholesale portals where buyers could get you directly.
