Optimizing ads position,colors,..... won't it drive your visitors away

May be a very strange question and is involving what most of our posts as adsense publishers are concerned about!!!!

We all read and seek ways to optimize the ads, to make them look part of the site so that the visitor would click them unaware they are ads. This is done through careful positioning of ads and using certain formats and colors..., but

When a visitor clicks on your ad unaware that it's an ad ( because it has been mingled well in your site), won't he get frustrated when he find that he has been driven away from the site(ads open in same browser window) and immediately will understand that what he clicked was an AD. This might :
    * make him mad feeling you are tricking him to get more money
    * drive him away from the site for good or at least will rarely visit it again
    * if he continues to visit your site, he will rarely click an ad again

So what you think guys? Is this why getting UNIQUE Visitors every day is important, so that everyday we find noobs to deceive them into clicking ads.

I think the aim of marketing and advertising is that a visitor will click an ad he finds interesting (hence he would be knowing that he's clickin an ad). I hear you saying this will decrease our earnings markedly, ok but may be better than losing your visitors.

Ofcourse , if we'r gonna think this way, we will need hundreds of thousands of impressions per month or even per week.

What about the big sites like those case studies at google site , are they deceiving customers as well to click??!!

I think the answer is that most clicks still come from people who know that THESE ARE ADS. Don't implement your ads in a way that tries to deceive people. It seems many people here optimize their ads with such aim and idea in their minds (tricking your visitores)

    I don't know, what u think?

I think if the ad is relevent (which most of them are, since they clicked on it), the visitor will be fine with checking out what the ad has to offer.

Valueman , then you are talkin about someone who clicked on the ad KNOWING IT"S AN AD probably. But for those who click on it thinking it's a link because it's embedded amongst the content, they might feel otherwise.!?

Man, even that I know which links are normal and which are ads I do click the ads if the description is good, and if I`m interested in the subject.. normal visitors have a fear of ads, when they see that the site is full of them, but if you make a site with 1-2blocks of ad, well blended + you have real content, then it's ok, people won't think that..."gezz he tricked me, this is a spyware, god damn it" Everybody are clicking on ads, without ads, you can't find good/bad sites, that's why ads exist, advertise..man..visitors aren't thinking like you, "I won't click coz he makes 50cent with it, no way, rather check the site link from the properties" Be serious, 99% of visitors don't know how ads work.. your job is to keep relevant ads on your site, to not let MFA sites show at your ads and maybe to keep competition away from your site...that's all what you have to do..

Personally, I don't think visitors care if it's an ad or not, as long as it promises to give them something they want. It doesn't cost them anything to click on an ad.

The problem is that many ads promise something the site doesn't deliver. Visitors who encounter this problem often enough will soon be discouraged and not click on ads.

As long as your site offers value to the visitor in terms of quality content. They will come back to your site even though they clicked on an ad intentional or unintential with the Ad blended. My first comment was directed to the blended ad into the content. If it is relevent to their search for that information, then the visitor doesn't really care.

I have sites with pretty high CTR, high page view per visitor and return visitors. The ads are very well blended into the content. However, I have never heard of a complaint or any decrease in traffic.
