    Macromedia MX suite (firefox dreamweaver)
    Paintshop pro
and an earlier version of photoshop

all purchased from money earned from web design, slowly over time

wish I could afford to keep up to date but they keep changing them too fast for my liking

Besides the possibility of this thread being locked for talking about downloading software illegally, don't think anything would happen to the people who admit to it.

With that said, when I first started learning in middle school I was pirating software. Now I buy it all legit with student discounts.

Photoshop, pirated. I don't use it enough to justify the price. If my life revolved around it I'd buy it though.

It's not up to you to decide whether or not your use justifies the price. The price is what it is. If it's too much for your intended use, use something else. The Gimp might be more in your price range.

I'm going to bow out of this thread before I start getting heated. I don't know why I got involved in the first place - I knew I would end up seeing all the same tired old excuses that thieves and bludgers use to justify their actions.

Are you guys serious? Admitting piracy on a public forum???

As for me, I get my workplace to buy legit copies even if it's not entirely needed for what I do, at least I know I have a legit copy.

If you can't afford it go for cheaper of free alternatives.
