overlap images / fade in photoshop

    Ok I used to know how to do this but havent used photoshop in awhile but I wanted to know how do you mesh two images together so it looks like they are one image. I thought it was using the feather technique but maybe im not using the layers correctly.....if anyone could help it would be much appreciated.
