im sure this is possible, and im sure the answer is obvious but i must be overlooking it. does anyone know of a way i can override the targeted ads with specific google ads?
does it have anything to do with the alternate ads?

You can't over-ride the ads google decides to serve you. Alternative ads just allow you to place other advertisements there when google has nothing relevant to show.

The only way to impact ad delivery is to impact the structure and content of your site.

It's really easy to influence the ads, use a iframe and put in a bunch of high paying keywords.

thanks for the quick reply btw. thats my problem i guess, its not focusing on the key words. ill have to see what i can do about that.

www.playmoboard.com is the site. the ads on the index are ridiculously irrelevant :(

ok, it seems like i got the iframes in ok and im getting more relevant ads coming in but the ads are for toys in general. my keywords are specifically targeted at 'playmobil' which i know there are ads for but its listing bath toys etc. is this something that will change with time or is it a random thing?

I've also implemented section targeting... https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/answer.py?answer=23168

btw, thanks again for the replies. the iframes really helped, its obvious i got alot to learn.
