Its Really Strange i have not seen other people reply to this post, as i know all the DP Forums are Generous enough to give atleast a word of encouragement.

I Would Requested all the DP Forums Memebers If anyone Cant Donate than please convey the message to their relatives friends, if own blogs post message their, forums owners tells their forum member about it. Website owners promote this on their website, in this a way a single donation thats comes from your reference will be counted.

    Please help Pakistan.

    Regards.

Listen. People wallets are tapped out after two hurricanes. Give us break OK? I pay taxes I know some of that is going to help, but in the meanwhile stop pointing the finger at us.

Another thing, we don't trust your service. It could be a scam. I'm not a big fan of donations in general since its like pouring water though a cheese grater. Some of the money goes to one group..some it it goes to another group. A middleman here a middleman there. 10% off the top...another 20 percent there.

The magnitude of the quake in terms of sheer power and in terms of lives lost is pretty incredible. Best wishes for sure to anyone that's been affected.

I think in the states a lot of people channel their donations and support through mainstream charities where we feel comfortable the money will be used appropriately. The Red Cross is the one I use.

I do think it will be a challenge for the US to step up financially at the levels it might otherwise have done so, because our economy has taken quite a hit and will continue to feel the effects of our recent local disasters for a long time.

You can do charity in many ways by local community or by other means

Charity is Charity i set up the page just to make sure if some people need additional information about offical bank accounts it can help them out.

    I am from paksitan
I dont think paypal is the good option
either bank transfer or check seems applicable

or u can contact me for checks and i can tell u address in USA(my relatives) to whom u can post the checks and they send it to me(to save u post fee) or u can send it to me in Karachi-Pakistan Directly and i submit them to local bank as all local banks accepting it now

thats the most direct risk free way

offcourse beneficiatory be "President of Pakistan Relief Fund" and gonna be a crossed check so no doubts i can submit

Most of the donations never really reach the people they were meant for, so be careful to whom you are passing your donations to.

The problem is not just of funds getting siphoned off , but many NGOs are not well organised and end up wasting more money than using it meaningfully. Just a few days back, I watched a documentary on Tsunami relief operations. The cordination amongst various organisations was pathetic. A woman in India was given relief materials 8 different times. Now what will she do with 8 different cooking pots?? On the other hand many people never got any help.

Most of the government aid ends in pockets of corrupt officials. I have been to Bhuj and other parts of Kutch after the 2001 earthquake. Hardly anyone got the compensation announced by the Govt. Most of the good work in kutch was done by large organisations and corporates like Hindustan Lever Ltd. Even today one can find hundreds of people living in tents in Bhuj.

I think if possible donate to large NGOs. Government funds will never reach the people...small organisations are not efficient enough.
