Palm vs Windows?

I'm looking for some feedback and people's experiences on mobile PDAs.

Palm or Windows Mobile? Pros & Cons

BlackBerry or one of the new smart phones w/ Windows?

I like the graphical environment of Windows and the ability to surf the Net, though one can do that on the Blackberries as well...

    Thanks!

    I have one of these.

    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002DV9DC/103-8891240-5727012?v=glance

Its great if you want to take bad quality photos + video, record bad quality sound or watch really small video clips. ;) Non compatible with macs too (without speicalist software).

However, It IS really good for:
Changing music/tv in clubs and bars where you dont like what they are playing.
    As a walkman.
    Sync with outlook etc.
    Integrated Wifi
    Bluetooth.
    SD/ MMC cards.

Overall I find windows mobile/ ppc very good. There are many apps out there that you can use on one. Even a mirror for example.

I had palms before they went colour, but ive never really liked them much.

I had a Palm III xe, thought I needed to upgrade, sold it.

    I bought a Toshiba e740 Pocket PC.

Now I love palm OS machines. I picked up a treo90, I love it. Now my toshiba sits on the floor unloved. :(

BTW, treo 90's are so far down the list of latest pda's it was real cheap.

    My 2 cents.

Yeah I've had an IPAQ since they first came out. Besides changing the channels and really messing with bartenders it's, also, very good if you like to store stuff in Excel and want use spreahsheets on the go.

I, also, use mine for a tape recorder and note taker. I used to use a wireless card for internet access, but I find that I'm on the internet so much while I'm working that if I'm away from the office I don't want online.

Personally, I dont find them great for work, many files are messed with when stored. However, I was stuck in Germany for 36 hours once and it got me from nowhere back to the UK. (with couple of maps, some music, books and translator etc) ;)

The question is, what you really need it for. I got Palm Tungsten E, previously owned old M105 :), and I am with Palm because of some great software (Bonsai, Shadow Plan, and the list would go on and on) that you will not find on other platform.

Yet just bought two little pocket pc's with keyboard on ebay so that I could write comfortably content on it.

And I might switch from Palm to Pocket PC entirely, just because my favorite PIM running under Windows, is perhaps going to be ported to Pocket PC only, and not to Palm.

Some of the Palm developers are starting to get angry at Palm, and some of the users as well, though it is still not massive.
