    Hello to all members!

I am building a little website service (like those sites with link building service but i'm not working with linkbuilding) and so a i have a question about the payment.
The buyer must pay first or after i have finish my service?
But i prefer first because i don't want to be scammed...
    What would you do?

    Thanks for your future answers.

Buyers are going to want to pay after the service so they aren't scammed. Obviously, you'd want to be paid prior to the service so you arn't scammed.

I think it's logical to pay half before and half upon completion.. or with 3 or 4 milestones depending on the size of the project.

    Do this:
    50% upfront fee.
    Remaining 50% on completion.

I prefer full payment before I do the service, but as a sign of goodwill and friendly business I offer 50% upfront 50% on completion for the first order. If you approach your clientèle this way, you show honesty and trust. Try it a few time - you'd be surprised how many people actually offer a 100% upfront payment themselves.

    Best Regards,
    vip-ip.

As a customer i don't mind paying upfront for as long as i can trust the business i am dealing with. We almost always pay with a credit card, so should things go wrong somehow, we can always do a charge back.

just stay aware that the worker do the job....

I don't think upfront 50% a good idea for your customer . If you scam them ,they lose 50% of their money . So why do you think it a fair solution for all ?
In my opinion ,I think the best is using an escrow service . Like Moneybooker escrow or Paypal with buyer protection .
After several transactions ,you will get testimonials .

Ask for payment upfornt, otherwise people will take your service and run for the hills. Not all people, but many.

50% payment is fair for me i think, because if i don't use that, people can all scam me, that is not fair.
I use Paypal and Moneybookers already.

Undoubtedly it is better to pay after the service, becaseu if you pay before it you can be scammed and can loose your money! At least 30% of the cum can be paid before the service, but the rest 70% - only after!

It is natural to see things from your perspective, but you must realize buyers do from their. They have more chances to get scammed. There is a world in my country and I hope I don't insult anyone> You only pay hookers in advance. I guess the most professional way is to have buyers pay an advance (40% is a good percent) and the rest upon completition. And this should be for the first times. Once you get to know a client and see he's serious, you can further negociate these terms, make payments upon milestones, etc.

I think the full amount up front, you dont go into a shop to buy a bar of chocolate and say 'ok, i pay 50% now then the other 50% after i eat'
