    Ehh there's a very simple way to find out whether it is from paypal or some phisher rather than banging your heads togather - if you get such mails (I'd say any mail from paypal) just forward it to - and wait for the reply, you will know whether is it from paypal or some scammer!!

    Yup. Don't simply press on any link that coming from an unknown reason or something. Not just only this paypal scamming thing, also same goes to those like asking you to give them your full details and click on the link for the reward or what.

    Good detective of DP family. But on some of this spam mail, it doesn't mentioned about the future date, instead, it mentioned an earlier one. :) Positive to sam1.

    Whenever you login to paypal, always do so by typing www.paypal.com in your address bar and never login to paypal by following any link whatsoever. Simple :)

    :eek: This Paypal employs psychics!!! :eek:

    I would just love it if my regular bank had the abilty to tell me what the activity on my account will be next week. Note, anyone that claims to have insider information on your bank account from the future is quite probably a con artist.

    - reading past that date issue now....

    Never rely on what you see when you hover over a link. My borther prooved that can be faked by sending me and a few others a link one time that loooooooked real, even when hovered over, but it did NOT take us to the site that it should have taken us to... Instead it took us to a page on his website that told us we had followed a fake link. I'm not sure how he did it, but he prooved that you do not rely on the fact that the information you see at the bottom of the screen looks legitimate.

    As The Webmaster said, just forward it to PayPal's Spoof center and they will tell you if it was fake or not. Never ever ever ever click on any links no matter how real they look. It is just too easy to make it look real even to those that think they know what a fake mail looks like.

    And good going Sam1!!!! As I was reading along I was wondering why no one else had noticed the date. :cool: Good eye! I'll see if I can figure out how to give you a positive ;)

    First of all pay pal will always call you by your name. Secondly pay pal will never ask you for your details. Finally most phishing URLs do something like this:

    https://www.paypal.com <(=== CLICK

    Dude...I know what u r saying...If you want to post something and alert everyone you need to have the right thing posted. You were careless not to post the 'RIGHT THING'. From whatever u posted the domain was right and so was the page where it took us...so its ur mistake not mine :) I just had a look at the URL and the page it took it to me and I posted my comments....Goto to seclists or bugtraq (hope you know what it is) and search on my name....u'll find out that I am not what u think I am :D
