PC Game site advice

    Hello,

    I run the site http://www.counterstrikestrats.com and was hoping that a few members here would give me a few tips optimizing for adsense. My cpm is usually between .50 and 1.00 and I think I should be able to do better. I get a good amount of traffic, so any improvements would help.

    One idea I have is to get an ad up higher. Here is a test page for my idea on how to do that http://www.counterstrikestrats.com/links.html. Would this be a good idea?

    Also, what are some good keywords for a pc game site to target that would bring in more money per click? Right now I average less than 10 cents a click.

    I would get rid of the ad block and instead use the 468 x 60 banner at the top just under site logo in the middle.

    Don't know about keywords but game related sites don't tend to pay to well :(

    blend the background of your ad with your own...and stick to image ads...put a skyscraper at the left side...and a banner ad below the banner image at the top...


    the site kinda looks broken in FF...please check...

    I'll agree with what both of these two have said. Stick with image ad's and put get the top 468 one to place above your content.

    You should get my tips. Check out my sig. I sell these tips for cheaper than they are worth, and I have reviews there as well. Definitly worth checking. PM me for mor einfo ,and check sig site.

    By the way, site looks good. You should make the adsense ads more gray, they dont blend in as BLACK, because your site is grayish. Overall, nice.

    Thanks for all the help. I will put an image only ad at the top under the main banner. I also am using a skyscraper in the left nav on all the pages as well. I am having trouble blending the color completely for the skyscraper because the backround. Would you suggest making the skyscaper an image only ad because of this? Or is it a close enough color?

    Last, I did make a few changes to make the site look better in FF. I think it was looking bad because of a recent change I made.

    add a link unit in the Main Menu or Map Strategies or you can add it under Counter-Strike Strats
