I noted a significant increase in "earnings" (well...)...after i first had two skyscrapers on the right stacked, THEN changed it so it shows text-ad in the body and left only ONE skyscraper on the right.

You see in the body (on the main section) there are two rows , the first one WAS a banner/image ad, second one text ads.

I now changed the banner-ad to a link ad.

    Any more ideas ?

    thank you

Actually, I would get rid of the link ad. Users need to click twice before you get paid.

Your site is too wide. Users displaying 1024x728 screens need to scroll left to see your 160x600 google side bar. See if you can remove that 3rd column or narrow all your columns so your web page fits in a 1024 screen.

Also, you have like a 1000 links on the page, try to reduce the number of links. it's difficult to read the web page overall because of this. It also makes it harder for the user to read your adsense ads, hence it will reduce your click through (ctr) %.

I think the ads are way too cluttered.. but the ads blend in the site well. Why not try changing the link unit to dark red instead.. it'll stand out a bit yet still blend.
