Well.. CS3 takes too much load to your PC.. I don't know why. It is heavier than CS2. I have the retail version of Creative Suite Premium (CS3). And it's GUI is more good looking with some little changes.. nothing special. You can check the photoshop website for all the latest features in CS3.

I haven't noticed much difference. I have modded my CS3 GUI to be similar to CS2 anyway. :p

If you're just a basic user of photoshop, you won't find any differences between the two;) so if you're considering one version or the other, it shouldn't matter as much.

why would yoou spend more money on third party plugins to do things that photoshop has integrated already to accomplish the same exact thing? i like spending money don't get me wrong but i like to think i spend it wisely.

Haven't upgraded to 'PS CS3' yet but i've heard that 'PS CS3 extended' can edit 3D content and compositing (much like after effects) and has the Smart Filters(wow, even filters can be non-destructive).

I'm still using PSCS2. I haven't found a reason to upgrade as of yet.

Filters, like USM, can be non-destructive if you apply them to a copy layer ... then you get to mask parts away, too.

I gotta agree with you (thread creator)...
I don't think there are many changes noticeable to the average user. I really don't think its worth upgrading if you're not an advanced user of Photoshop.
