Before I go crazy with making templates for my content.. how does the page look so far? I would like ot inplement a block ad somewhere.. but not sure where yet. possibly for the content pages instead of the main page. any comments? usability issues? i tried to use as much css as possible.

Content pages? None of the links work. You probaby won't get much CTR because if your site doesn't work after a person tries to navigate around they will just get frustrated and leave without clicking a thing.

Sorry bud. I think the placement is ok although I think the the grey colour of the adsense ads is a little light and gets lost on the page.

Whenever I change a colour on my site it occurs right away. I either use Safari or Firefox browsers. Perhaps you should empty your browser cache and refresh the page with the new colour on it.

    hows the layout here

    http://www.timothyallard.com/resources/v3/hosting.html
    (new ad layout)

    and http://www.timothyallard.com/resources/v3/index.html
    for the main page,...

there is a link ad in the middle, and a text and picture ad on the bottom,..should those be switched so th eimage pops up in the middle?

please let me know what you think

I think the index page has better ad placement than the hosting page. With a set of ads on the index page being above the heading and "above the fold" (they are shown on the user's screen when the page loads without the user having to scroll down any), I believe it will work better than the ads first appearing in the middle of the content, like on your hosting page.

I would also test out how the ads work without a border.... just a thought.

going along with the above the fold idea...for things below the fold...would it be better to have just image ads to see if you can get their attention as a last resort before they leave?

I would be the adsense color of the ad orange, other than that the placement looks great.

You can debate this way and that, but it really comes down to what works on your site. Test things out and see what happens :)

thanks, Im a current PR3 working to get PR4...but im struggling to get a picture ad for my pages. still public service ad's :\ so i changed them to block links & pic

the site is still in development, quite a few links arnt 100% functional. and the site isnt built for adsense.. im first trying to build good traffic 40,000 hits since jan 1

    http://www.timothyallard.com/resources/v3/opensource.html

maybe there is just a lack of picture ad's for this area,..but im top notch on SEO,..so maybe it will just take time?... or..

any other tips/ suggestions greatly appreciated.
