Please advise about links from Social media sites

Hi, I heard that Social networking sites provide links to your sites but Im confused how to get backlinks from bookmarking n social media ???

 

you can gain traffic from the social network itself but most of the actual links are "nofollow" in terms of google indexing etc

 

There are dofollow bookmark sites. they are great to build backlinks. such as

Use Digg followed by SU. One of the two best right now...

 

Digg is great and will generate some links (the submission URL is actually dofollow). StumbleUpon however is VERY hit and miss. It's entirely nofollow and although it will generate traffic, the average site visit is less than 6 seconds. We've had a ton of pieces generate thousands of 'stumbles' in 2010 but these people don't like to the piece and do not click-thru deeper into the site.

Good content however is really what is necessary to generate links. Articles like this 20 Party Cakes Gone Horribly Wrong (that went live today) or this piece on World of Warcraft Addiction are what are going to bring in the links.

But even they are only as effective as the content itself. I've had good success with Mixx and Reddit. But you really HAVE to have a power user account at Reddit to get much traction. Otherwise your submission just won't go anywhere.

 

You can increase traffic by post nice content and share with your followers on twiiter & friends on facebook.

 

My social network site welcomes you. Even though it seems new but, tomorrow, it will be older than today. (At least one day older)
