please critique

hi all.introduced myself earlier.new in the forum.i would like some opinions on my site getlaidny.com. it's my first website (still learning html and all the goodies) and placed adsense ads.just learned in this forum that ad placement is so crucial so i'm hoping you guys can teach some things.suggestions,opinions and criticism are all welcome.

Hi,

Nice domain name!

Don't get mad, I just want to give an honest opinion about your site. Please take my advice as a way to improve your site.

Bad:
1. I would stay away from the font your using.
2. Color is TOO plain; Add more colors, I never been to NY, but i've seen it on TV and everywhere and NY seems colorful at night.
3. It doesn't flow
4. Bad navigation (sometimes good, explanation below)

Good:
1. Good domain name
2. Excellent content!!

Ad Placements:
Good ad placements, but if you want more clicks, make those ads blend! I said above how bad navigation is sometimes good, why? If you make those ads blend in really good, visitors will most likely to click those ads because they think its your site's navigation! Works for me!

Look at my site, http://www.jdmb16.com , see the links below my header/logo? That's actually my money maker! lol

My last suggestion, is for you to get a nice free templates, you can find it on google.com, theres plenty of them out there! All you gotta do is add your contents and place your ads and upload and wait for those click!

One more thing, your site has A LOT of potential!!!!

 

thanks for the suggestions and the compliments.definitely will take the color into consideration.as far as the ad placement in the hotspots section,do you suggest me placing it next to the nav links?
