is this the kinda thing your after?

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=28627&stc=1&d=1250794375

very simple and easy to do.

Create 2 layers, the top one should be tansparant and the bottom one should be your background colour, in this case i used black
use your Forground colour for (in this case yellow) on the transparent layer using a Forground to transparent graident overlay, can be done in strait line or in a circle patern you have used.

Just go Filter > render > Diffrent clouds on the foreground colour, make sure the 2 colours you have used have been selected on your colour pallet.

you can try the same but using fibers instead of Diffrent clouds for a diffrent effect.

    Hey Tech,

To create the second image follow these steps:

    1. Create a New Image in Photoshop.
    2. Fill the bottom layer with #000000.
    3. Create a new layer.
    4. In this layer you are going to create a transparent radial gradient with the color #F4C900.

    5. To create the gradient, click and hold at the bottom of the art board and drag to a little above the top of your art board.

This should create it for you. If you have any questions, shoot me a PM.
