in the past, ive had better CTR for black websites, so ive been revamping my site with black blended adsense.

please take a look at my site and give me opinions on my ad placement and color scheme:

as an absolute and general rule:for me since many years:

i never read or surf black websites - no matter what the topic is, there always are alternative sies out there

its simply too painful, too tiring, too much discomfort to look at black or dark things in life

hence when visiting a black web site i also never click any ads

the same is valid for the 2 urls you provide
i am sure you have a scientific reason to opt for black ...
or your ctr must be far avove what colorful sites or bright sites have ? ( my normal site usually has a site wide average ctr of 5+ % )

As a general rule I do not like to read anything but dark-colored text on a solid, light-colored background. Having said that, I am sure there are a number of people who would not be so much bothered by it.

There are actually a few cases where I could see the "reverse-newspaper" color scheme to fit with the topic of a site, e.g. gaming websites, alternative sites, heavy metal, etc. These are basically "darker" or "heavier" type topics. Your site's topic doesn't really qualify for this, though, either...

If the font were a little bigger I'd be more likely to stay...

Where did you hear that ads have better ctr when it is white text on a black background? Maybe the visitors are trying to escape to easier-to-read color schemes?

The layout is nice, though... I find it aesthetically pleasing, if not suited to my functional tastes
