We have a new site in Beta, that is using Greg-J's flickscript, and I was wondering what you all thought about how adsense is placed on the site. I have also email adsense to get their thoughts. We are medium sized publisher bringing in $x,xxx in adsense revenue. Hate to get banned though!

Greg-J is a great programmer and an awesome guy to deal with. LOTS of experienced webmasters use his scripts with great success. You'll be fine.

Thanks, I am not really questioning Greg's judgment but even he realizes the need to be safe.

This is the warning that is listed in ad section of the script.

Please read your ad providers TOS and General Agreements very carefully. Due to the nature of this business, we have no idea when an ad company will allow or disallow displaying ads in any fashion used within this script. If you are ever in question, email them.

Here is the response from Adsense...

    Hi Andrew,

Thanks for checking in with us. After reviewing http://www.christianclips.com, we can't approve the current AdSense implementation. To be specific, we ask that publishers not place Google ads in misleading locations on their sites. Such implementation may draw undue attention to the ads and prompt unintentional user clicks, thereby artificially inflating advertiser costs. As you may know, drawing undue attention to ads is in violation of our program policies.

Further, we constantly analyze the data in our network against several factors. If our data shows that a click likely will not lead to a conversion for the advertiser (for example online sales, registering, a phone call, signup for a newsletter etc.), we'll reduce the price the advertiser pays for this click. This automatic system is constantly changing and is also impacted by the ad auction.

Our system takes into consideration factors such as what keywords and concepts triggered the ads, and also which ads that are shown. For example, a click on an ad that is placed in a misleading location can be worth less than if the same ad were placed according to policies. Please note that the system is dynamic and can change with time. The goal of the system is to offer even more relevant ads with a better customer experience.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    Magnus
    The Google AdSense Team
