    I've using Adsense for a month (The site is 2-3 months) and I was going no where with my google ad placement.....but the other day I changed around and now I'm getting more clicks per day...I wanted to see if I could improve the placement even more:D

    Add a linkunit under the header
    add a banner above your first post
    If your ctr is low try blending the ads by using the same background as your page

    Okay first change the ads bg color to your normal website bg color, then the hyperlink on the ads should be blue and not white.
    Take some ads into the content also.

    Thats just a few tricks to increase your earnings, you can do 2 things now, listen to me and change that, or just do like you doing now and loose money.
