    Color is good. Ads Units above the fold (visible without scrolling down) would be better Placement.

    I don't want to put ADs on mainpage, but ADs are above the fold on posts.
    Also - ADs are rotated randomly, sometimes there is a leaderboard at the top.

    Have you tried using image only ads? Since your site is very text heavy, they will stand out more.

    No, I havent, but Adsense often provide image ADs and still nothing...

    your ads are so small. i see that you are using a link unit inside your blog posts. convert it to ads unit

    Please, refresh few times - Ads are rotating, sometimes there is link, sometimes there is normal content ad.

    I've added large rect at the bottom of the post and changed few rotation rulez.

    I have Google AD in sidebar, but it rotates with my free hosting's AD.
