Please review my blog - The Perplexikon! and thoughts on placement/audience

Please review my blog [The Perplexikon is devoted to the documentation of letter abuse - a linguistic phenomenon of intentional or satiric misspelling and incorrect letter usage found in our culture.] May seem silly but it's funny!

I added Adsense around November 3rd, and had made like $1.54 for the month. Then in December I did a bit of seo research, started writing a little content here and there (nothing major, but a few niche articles about orthography) and joined a few places to get the name out there a little. In December, thus far we have made $11.33. Particularly December 8 - 11, we were getting about 2-5 clicks per day on those days, paying about $1.75-$4 each day. Can anyone look at this screen shot of my adsense stuff and tell me what could have caused this increase and how can i continue in the right direction?

I want to target people who are readers, writers, researchers, linguists, orthographists, people interested in the quirks of marketing and advertising and the only way I have found successful in finding some of this audience is through similar blog link trades. I know it's a REALLY niched thing, but can anyone give me advice? A lot of the ads that show up are for candies, foods, etc, but it is becoming more varied. It just so happens that a lot of brands for food and what not come up frequently!

Also, is there a way to know what ad is being clicked on to cause such a rise? to repeat success? or would that be too easy? Would this site suitible for affiliate marketing programs?

    Thanks in advance :)

Well if it generates steady stream of income, I don't see there's any reason to change anything.

Well....its a nice little niche (what makes it nice is that fact that your interested in it).

ok so a couple of things here.... You're asking if the blog is suitable to affiliate marketing? What do you mean by that...if you are targeting readers and writers and marketers and the such then do you think they are on the site to buy something. Look at where your traffic is coming from and you can tell if they are potential buyers or not. Affiliate marketing in my opinion needs HIGHLY DIRECTED traffic.

    Google Adsense :

    - Don;t be posting your adsense stuff online...gets you in trouble with Uncle G.
    - Your revenue per click will settle, no ifs ands or buts, i know its sucks but believe me it will settle..drop drastically and then slowly, ever sooo slowly rise. If you don't believe me (which you should) ask around the forums.
    - When it comes to ad relevancy, for now since your getting some nice cash from the clicks i'd leave as is, when it drops, and it will drop, then start to optimize the page that adsense will have an easier time knowing what your blog is about (ie linguistics not Razrs).. However, the size of the advertiser pool for your niche is a mystery to me

    Goodluck

Oh, and no, you cant tell which ad is causing the high payout. But... you can do a little research, visit your site, write down the keywords that are on the ads, use google keyword tools and see which one has a higher advertiser competition. (GGG...i'm like giving away all my secrets here)
