I think it looks excellent, actually. How is it performing for you? The only concern I have is that your wide skyscraper is in a "cold" area (on the right, and below the fold) in the Google AdSense heatmap. Moving it to a "warmer" area (on the left, perhaps above the fold) might make it more attractive for users and more likely to receive clicks.

Its very good, but you could put a banner ad under your header.

If not, you should move your right 160*600 banner up a bit.

    Good luck!

Yeah, it's already really nice. One thing you could try is replacing that banner with a block ad. Try to incorporate it to look like it's part of the article.

I think you're right about the right Skyscraper. I don't really want it there but that this point in time it seems the logical place to put my third Text Ad. To be honest at the moment I'm not getting too many clicks but most of my effort has been focused on getting traffic rather than optimising the content of my ads. At the moment I'm getting about 50 uniques a day but it is building :)

Yeah I have wanted to put a banner under my header. Would you recomment putting it where I currently have the ad links? Or below my navigation bar??

I've tried putting it below my nav bar but it pushes the body of my blog posts down SO Far that it really stands out. If I could fix it I would definitely place it there. Any ideas?

Not sure I understand what you mean... block ad? Do you mean replacing the Ad Links with a Text Ad?

It looks great but I'm not sure about blue as the background, considering it's an Arsenal blog..hehe

Ad link units are great. For the units in the content, try a 250 x 250 text on with text wrapped around it.

I've been told this many times before - my response is that there are already a multitude of Arsenal blogs that utilise red and white and frankly, I want mine to stand out. I've also purposely chosen a lighter blue because there are no teams that play with these colours (Chelsea, Tottenham etc are all different shades) so I don't think it associates with them too much.

Do you think my assessment is correct or does it make you believe this isn't an Arsenal blog?

Thanks mate. If you do really like it you can subscribe to the feed via the website. I'd recommend Google Reader to view it.

Another interesting point. I think eventually that will be a more effective way to get clicks. I also think it lacks a bit in professionalism so I think that I will try and build up readers first then really go for the throat when it comes to Adsense when I have a loyal reader base that I am happy with. Do you think this is a good idea at this stage, or would you recommend following your own tip immediately?

Thanks for the positives. I have moved the skyscraper slightly higher on the right sidebar. Anyone have any feedback for moving it up? Especially the users who previously commented?

Have now pushed that Skyscraper up even higher on the right-hand side and it now sits above the fold. How does everyone like that?

Love the blog, probably because i'm a mad gooner :)

    It looks really good.

One question... can you use the badge without Arsenal's permission?
Remember they changed it a few years ago to stop unauthorised reproduction.

Don't want to worry you but it's worth looking into now rather then when you get a threatening email.

Yeah I should probably do something about it, especially if I do want this to become more popular (which, obviously, I DO!).

Will consider your comments and probably come up with a revolutionary new banner in the near future?

Do you run a football website as well ? What do you think of Chelsea & Manchester getting knocked out :D ???

If you wanted to build up professionalism at first.. I wouldn't place any ads on the site in the first place. Wrapping the content around the text just makes it blended in well.. so it's not obvious that there are ads around the page (which in my opinion looks much more clean and professional)

I don't run a football website but have thought about it quite a few times, maybe one day :)

Have you thought about expanding on the theme and making a blog for all of the big clubs?

Also, how about putting some Google News feeds on there, so you always have the lastest updated football news.

And you could use something like blinx.com to have random relevant video displaying on the site too.

Just some ideas for you to think about

P.S. I loved it that Chelsea got knocked out, let's hope we beat them tomorrow and end their faint title hopes for good!
