Please Review the Adsense on my blog - I am not getting the desired results

Can someone please review the adsense on my Football blog.
The link is located in my sig.
I am using a pre-made for adsense template but my results are miserable. I wonder how I could increase my ctr.
I know that almost half of the displayed ads are not content related. I tried to fix it but failed to do so. I am thinking that google simply lacks of ads on this niche.
Thanks in advance for the help.

    Ace.

Your placement seems ok. You can tell the difference between ads and content quite easily on this layout so maybe that's why.
Hopefully with more traffic, your CTR will pick up!

Like the placement and blending very well.

I would add another 468*60 at the bottom of the content. If the reader makes it to the bottom of the page and is looking for more they don't see any cash links.

Yes this is for sure, but when we speak about the CTR. Ctr is offered in %-age so basically if you have 100 visitors and 1 click , it's the same as having 1000 visitors and 10 clicks. I mean, The Ctr is the same 1% in this case.
So at 100 visitors I expect to see some results.
And also those clicks are incredible low, value. and yes, I have a mfa - filter installed.
    So what's next? :p

I think your ads look great with the site. I am being served completely relevant ads so I think your problem might be traffic not the ads.

On one of my football sites, that is my problem. I can't seem to boost traffic so my earnings just stagnate.

The only thing I would suggest is possibly embedding the ads into your content but your posts are short and continued on other pages so it may be hard, but possibly put it at the end of your first post? People reading your blog would then come across the ad more naturally and increase there chance of seeing something their interested in? Just a thought.

I think you should make your ads stand out rather than blend them into the page. Leave the background the same but change the title and url color. I have ads that stand out on my blog and I have a very high CTR.

Yes traffic is also a problem for sure, but it also remains the super low click value that I get, I mean super low or extra low as you want to call it. :)

P.S : Perhaps we could do a link exchange. :p

Hmm I am thinking at adding an ad block at the start of the posts, a rectangle, and the content should start next to it, but I am still searching how to add it.
    Thanks for the thought. ;)

This might not make sense to some but one of the things I do is run my keywords through the google traffic estimator. If it tells me the price of a click is really low to buy, then I know to expect low payouts on my pages.

If the price is high, then I would expect a better pay out. Not a fool-proof system but something that gives me a bit of an indicator.

kodut:Well I can only tell you that my current opinion is : "don't start it, look for something else" and you might have the most changes to get something higher. :)

roseau: Can you pls send me link for that estimator? Thanks.

P.S: I changed a bit the layout. What do you think now?

The page is STUFFED with ads but it took me a few seconds to find them. :p It seems like the main content looks far more interesting than the ads - maybe because the ads have borders.

Lol , nice.... but I added the borders today, so it went wrong without them, now I am waiting to see how it runs with them. I think that it can't run worser as it did before..... hopefully!
