Remove the skyscraper, they usually dont perform well.
Remove the adunits on the frontpage, people usually dont visit your home page, they go to articles they bookmarked and it also looks spammy with 3 adunits on the main page.
Remove the border of the ads (that is just a suggestion, could perform better with)
Place the ads higher on the page, float them left. Make the text wrap around them.
    Good luck

Add in a 250 x 250 block ad (blending it in with the site's color scheme) within your content area.

Skycraper adds preform poorly, use the space for content

Consider moving the calendar further up as that is a useful navigation tool. Then he Google Link Unit Ads followed by the "Mp3 Music" section, but make the links underlined to blend more with the Link Unit ads.

There's very little adverts above the fold for most resolutions. I'd try something up top. Try a 728 leaderboard right under the logo in a A/B split and see how it performs.
