    I think with most social networks that paid diggs/stumbles will get you an initial spike of traffic - but unless you've actually got great quality content it's not going to last.

    If you purchase 50 diggs and use them to launch a spammy article on Digg then you will get buried. It's a reflection that ultimately however much SEO's work to game the algorithms behind networks - there's still a human element that has to make that decision to click.

    The qualification comes from the fact that if you genuinely have great content - paid something or other can sometimes give you the push along until you actually get noticed (if you are not incredibly well-connected within the network)
