    text skyscraper is pretty far away from the real content. i always try to mix the text ads with my content so they are right where people are already reading....

    I would place the adsense ad in a table and make the background more longer (so it aligns with the other tables)

    i think their not cause it is in different background and not connected...

    try blending all your links with one color like all dark gray or red...:D

    Change your ads background into white. Also try to add a leaderboard at the top and a link unit at the menu.
