Above the fold, front & center....looks good to me!

I would let it run in that position for atleast 2000 impression and recorded your CTR than change to another ad format (ex:Banner) but in same location for another 2000 impression and see what happens.

As you have just started, I have a suggestion.

    Don't make a forum.

    Make a blog instead.

Blogs are much easier to maintain and have better CTR.

    -------------------------------------------------------

You may try a column placement.

Adding a right column has done wonders to my vbulletin forum.

(There are many good plug-ins available for vb, but I don't have any idea about MyBB).

I think the big blocks on the top are too big. It's bigger than your content.
Try to place one 728x90 on the top right corner beside your site logo, one 160x600 Banner On the right side, one small block banner (200x200) inside each post content to make it unique.
