Hi guys;
This thread is dedicated to poetry.
I came up with a poem wanted to share with u.

F A M I L Y

I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
"Oh excuse me please" was my reply.

He said, "Please excuse me too;
I wasn't watching for you."

We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said goodbye.

But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.

Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.

When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
"Move out of the way," I said with a frown.

He walked away, his little heart broken.
I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.

While I lay awake in bed,
God's still small voice came to me and said,

"While dealing with a stranger,
common courtesy you use,
but the family you love, you seem to abuse.

Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find some flowers there by the door.

Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.

He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes."

By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall.

I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
"Wake up, little one, wake up," I said.

"Are these the flowers you picked for me?"
He smiled, "I found 'em, out by the tree.

I picked 'em because they're pretty like you.
I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue."

I said, "Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way."
He said, "Oh, Mom, that's okay.
I love you anyway."

I said, "Son, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue."

FAMILY
Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company
that we are working for could easily replace us in
a matter of days.
But the family we left behind will feel the loss
for the rest of their lives.



And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more
into work than into our own family,
an unwise investment indeed,
don't you think?
So what is behind the story?



Do you know what the word FAMILY means?
FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU

heres one i wrote

A Smile

A smile brings joy,
A smile brings hope,
A smile brings happiness,
To those that cannot cope.

A smile is a wonderful thing,
That is easy to teach,
It can be used in load of places,
Like at home, in school or laying on the beach.

A smile has all sorts of powers,
Some are really neat,
Like what you do for me,
When you bring the heavens to my feet.

I love it when you smile,
It makes my day complete,
For when you smile,
It makes my heart beat.

For me a smile is all i need,
To tell me everything is alright,
Without it i would be lost,
And you would no longer be in sight.

Here is my poem. A haiku to poems

Anyone can rhyme
But counting five seven five
is a lot harder

 

Wow, Nuhassan..I loved that poem. I don't believe for a bloody second you made it up, but I love it.

 

Here is one from my Irish Girl

Springtime in Ireland

I run through lush green fields and spy,
a flock of birds flying in the sky,
and then they start to sweetly sing,
to show at last it is spring.

And fleecy lambs in fields are born,
and the wondrous colours of the morn,
shine purple, yellow and flame red too.
to show the day has started a new.

The trees they stand so graceful tall,
protects the birds from predators call.

My Love Lasts For A Lifetime


I feel so safe
whenever
I am with you.
I feel as though
my problems
cease to exist
whenever I am in your arms...


When you smile at me
I see the sparkle
that reaches
into the depths
of your eyes.


I love everything
about you.
I love your smile,
your eyes,
and the gentle way
that you touch me.
I love the way
you say my name
and your loving words
when you speak to me


I have been hurt before,
but you make it easy to handle
what I have been through
by being loving and kind,
and not taking for granted
the love that I give...
no matter how easy
it could be....


You shine a bright light into my life
where there used to be
only darkness....
you make me feel wanted,
and needed,
things I am not used to.


You are the reason
that I wake up
in the morning,
my whole world
revolves around you....
You are the center
of my universe,
and the reason
of my existence
and I will always love you
for a lifetime
and eternity,
no matter what
we go through.....

My Heart is Missing You!!!

When you are gone
I feel so alone
I miss you dear
when you are not here

You make my day
Like when the sun shines in May
I need to see your smile
and I wish I could see it more then just once in a while

You are such delight
and add joy to my nights
I want you to know what you mean to me
and oh.. I hope that you can see

My heart is missing you
and I wonder... do you miss me to?
I hope that you do
because I know I miss you!!

I always hope you are ok, and nothing is wrong
When will I see you again.. oh I hope it won't be long!
I need to know that you care
and that no matter what you will always be there

Remember this is for you, my friend
and to you I will send
So keep it close to you heart
and if you do, we will never part.

If someone is not a fan of poetry then he better stay off from this thread and dont post idiotic comments.

Guys come up with some good poems. Feel pleasure in sharing your feelings.

 

I don't have poems, I come up with song ideas, but not poems.

 

Okay, i join with a famous haiku:

An old pond
A frog jumps in
The sound of water.

Haiku is traditional japanese poetry. Its made of a 17-syllable verse divided in units of 5, 7, and 5 syllables. Sorry the translation doesnt help much.
