Hi, can you change your name on this forum without resigning up?

Yes, you need to request it from an Admin.

I have no idea what the criteria is (postcount, rep, payoff, etc ;) )

I've moved jobs, techically one (or two) of those belong to my old employers I suppose. I had this argument with them. IT came about because of the paid subscription account to webmasterworld. And he said all forums accounts, infact EVERYTHING done in their time belongs to them.

Which I suppose it true (english law).

I just wondered if it was possible to change my name, should I want to.

lol, no as I say it was probably more aimed at the WMW one because they paid for the subscription.

But many 'personal' things I've signed up for were discussed....don't want to upset anyone...

Yes, you can change your username... if you signup for a new account, all your accounts will be banned.
