Private Forum membership - secure but free?

    I want to offer membership to a private forum to folks who purchase my product.

    In other words, it's 'free' to those who buy...they don't pay an extra fee.

    What's the best way to set something like that up?

    You could use the vbulletin software and use the paid memberships option that is built in. Setup a couple of usergroups - 1 can see only certain sections, 1 can see all of the sections. After the person makes the purchase, they will automatically be moved to a group that can see all of the forum sections.

    It handles all the paypal IPN, when they successfully pay/subscribe, it creates a username for them to download the product and also allows access to a phpBB forum.
