Prominent skyscraper - too spammy?

What do you guys think about my placement of a skyscraper on basically every page of this site? I'm hoping for a high CTR because while there will be good info present on this site, it takes some digging (like in a directory) and less-serious visitors who don't feel like digging may just go for the ads as a way out.

Please visit the Instrument Values tab. I have put a chitika ad at the bottom of each page in that section of the site. While they're well targeted, Im not impressed with the recent news that's come out about Chitika and their payouts and customer service. Do you think I would be better off with a half banner with images above (it's a widely discussed technique on these forums, you know which technique I mean!). Perhaps the half banner could blend in with the background of each section, it would be sneakier then my ORANGE skyscraper.

Duh I forgot the URL. I'm trying to avoid live links, not ready for spiders or people yet. [IMG]

Roze it stands out due to color but fits in with banner. Lots of pages use the skyscrapers. I say go for it and see how it does. If that does not work you might try blending with color of content area and comparing resuls.

Thanks for the opinion. It scares me to have that HUGE of an ad block, but on the other hand, what else will I fill the space with? i'm already using a narrow layout (will fit on a 600x800) and still cant fill the space with my content until the very interior pages.

I am no Adsense guru. You see pages with three adsense blocks so one does not seem exceptionally spammy to me.

Cool. Anybody have an idea about the chitika vs. an adsense half-banner?
