Promoting a Social Networking in a brand new niche..

Hi digitalpoint community members how's everyone ? I need a bit of help promoting my new social network website. Please see the below.

My challenge: I would like to promote my new Social Networking website in as much ways as possible how ever though I find this very difficult as I can't use traditional methods of site promotion (link exchange, banner exchange, forum posting) because there aren't many sites to do inner promotion from.

Any tips on how I can go about promoting my my new Social Networking will be greatly appreciated.

 

Does it have a particular target audience?

If yes, you could buy advertising from sites that cater specifically to that section of the population.

Organise some interesting contests.

However I'd advise you to have a really whacky name, and a good design, for users to go ahead and register instead of disappearing.

 

What about buying adwords advertisement? Maybe if you told us the niche it would be easier to suggest ways to promote your site.

Social networks are probably the best way to go if you want some great conversions. I also recommend using bum marketing techniques for this will get you a load of traffic.

 

Be more specific on what you mean by "bum" marketing techniques.

 

The niche would be mobile device social networking - this is the best category I could think of.

 

We need more information about your site. What age are you looking for... 16 - 25 myspace would be a good start and they now have ppc. You can also try HI5 or any other site like that. The next big question would be do you have budget to by some ads? Bum Marketing is all about do it for low cost or no cost. Give us some more info and we can get your pointed in the right path...
