    Are you'll aware of it?
With 73,000 indexed pages in Google and an Alexa Rank of 1870 i wonder what is their reason for closing down the site.

Here's what shows up on the homepage.

I don't understand why it will be shut down. It has an Alexa rating of 1900 and is a well known site.

The bad point is all our backlinks from that site will be gone as well.

I agree with the idea they were bought out, with the purpose of shutting it down so a mediocre rival could thrive.

If you check Whois, it appears they were bought by AOL.

Wasn't Propeller a Yahoo thing? If so, I'm not surprised.

    Not a bad analogy, actually.
FB is stealing most of the internet eyeball time more and more every day.
Once I happened to find several old GF's on there, I figured out real quick how to understand it.
Think about it........interactions on the web become enhanced a thousand-fold when people realize their life history is staring them in the face.
People we haven't seen in 30 years, and never expected to see again, are staring us in the face.

Too bad, I have lots of post in Propeller :-( I have noticed that lots of social networking sites are saying goodbye after how many years. One example is Ask's MyStuff. Digg I think is already back on its track.
