Has anyone had any success in finding ways or people to invest in a good idea for a site? See ive been thinking all afternoon about this idea i had earlier today but at thee moment its just lacking funding. Anyone been in this situation before? Cause i also don't want to say what it is in fear that the plan might get stolen, i have also checked to see if anyone else has done it on google and it seems its unique :) Im just lost in what to do. Anyone been in this situation and has some advice?

If you believe in the idea and can convince others it has a high chance of working with you at the helm, you should be able to find funding.

I would write up your plan - expenses (fetch quotes from programmers/designers or whomever), hosting costs etc, then detail your experience and provide as much proof as possible that it will work and the investers will see a return on their investment. Also provide details of marketing/promotional costs, how it will generate revenue and predict the best you are able to. Plot how the project will grow, potential areas for expansion and if the time came, a get out strategy such as selling it (may help provide a safe-guard for potential investors to know you are willing to sell it if needed to re-coup their investment if things aren't going too well.

You could post your proposal on here but be wary of people who just want to rip your idea - make sure you know they're serious about investing and don't give the specifics out to any old tom, dick or harry.
