    I just got my first image ever put into Google Search. It's ranked "9th" in the picture part. I'm doing something right and it makes me happy, but I found out that it's a simple...

    My question is does the title really matter?

    Alt tag is part of on-page optimization. It makes image more friendly and Google recommends that.
    Will it helps your keyword ranking...indirectly it may help but how well your keyword rank in the SERP depending on many other factors (eg keyword comptitiveness, off-page optimization,etc)
