So besides all the undexing issues I am having with Google, I was curious about the following crawl errors:

    http://www.planjam.com/cmcmuwdybwht.html
    500 (Internal server error) [?] Aug 9, 2006

    http://www.planjam.com/ddlvkmjqk.html
    500 (Internal server error) [?] Jul 28, 2006

    http://www.planjam.com/mnwklrlkyb.html
    500 (Internal server error) [?] Aug 8, 2006

    http://www.planjam.com/zsezlrecvpgtka.html
    500 (Internal server error) [?] Aug 9, 2006

Can someone give me any info on why G is reporting errors on these bizarre URL's (they are not on my site btw).

    Thanks!

I think your 404 error page is showing an 500 page instead. Is the 404 set up correct?

I tried a random URL and got the same.

I'd also do a 301 redirect for the above URL's.

Does it say where these links came from? If they come from your site or your sitemap, then the bad links are 'your' responsibility and may affect you. If they came from some joker on the net, then Google understands that these are not your fault and you shouldn't be penalized for them.

turns out I had an issue with Word Press. After some research, I specified "RewriteEngine Off" in the .htaccess file and now it works fine. Thanks for all the help.
