Questions about starting a "R" rated site

I've been kicking around the idea of starting a somewhat controversial site that would touch on some sensitive topics (religion, race, sex, politics, ect..)

It's not a hate or porno site, but more of a dark satire site. It will offend a lot of people if everything goes as planned, but I'm just wondering if there's any hosting or domain problems I could run into from operating such a site. If so do you have any recommendations on companies that will accept this type of site?

Also what type of monetization model would you run on such a site? I don't want to water down my content to make it Adsense friendly, and I'm sure most affiliate programs will not accept me.

Any input would be much appreciated.

 

As far as hosting - it really depends on the type of site. When you say offend people - is it in a hateful way. There is offending and then there is offensive. I mean, I could do a site that says there is no God and that would be offending to some people, but as long as it is not advocating some things (like killing all people of a certain race, sex, etc) you should be ok

With AdSense, you should review their TOS because it might not be supported. I would say most hosting companies will support you but ask & read their TOS.

No it won't be about spreading hate or killing, but it will poke fun at sterotypes. I'm sure adsense is out of the question, but I'm wondering what other options there are for making $$$.

 

you can always not worry about money at first get a pr and start indexing on google and as soon as you get a pr some people might want ad space on your site! which they will pay for!

 

What about adbrite ?? Have seen it on lots of Porn and warez site !!!
