Recommend me places in Koh Samui, Thailand

I may be going to Koh Samui early next month on a business trip. I would definitely tour around the place if time permits.
Can DP members recommend me some places that I should visit or activities that I should take part in?

Well if you want some refreshing getaways after your convention then you can go to Kanchanaburi (128 kms. away from the country's capital) and enjoy the floating raft houses there. :)

I suppose all of the above can be obtained from the Isle of Koh Samui, minstrel??
For entertainment, which is the best? ;)

Possibly McDonalds if it has a playground. Otherwise, probably Thai One On

He's right. Those McDonalds' playgrounds can get really noisy...

Thanks for the link, Arnie... but frankly, I prefer word of mouth promo as I'm too lazy to read... :p Moreover, I may have limited time at the island... :(

    We stayed at Poppies-
    http://www.poppiessamui.com/lookaround/index.html

Even if you don't stay there, they have one of the best restaurants on the island. "The Cliff" restuarant is another very nice place to eat.

Chawang beach was my favorite beach there but Lamai beach was also very nice and more secluded.

Thai-boxing (muay thai) is worth checking out for a few hours one evening. Other than that, we didn't really do too much in the evenings- just walked up and down the street looking at transvestites and buying cheap stuff. :p

If you have a full day, the Anthong national park was one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. I actually got to see some monkeys there too.

And if you do go there, make sure you hike up to the Emerald lake.

Let me know if you want the name of a good tours/excursions company there. The guy (guide) I'm talking to in the picture above was pretty crazy. I actually went to the Full moon party with him and didn't make it back until 10AM the next morning.

How long are you going for? And how long are you going to be in Bangkok?

And finally....the farting MONK on a cell phone!

    Nice write-up there...:)
Convention is a 3 days thingy and I might be extending my stay for another 2 days...
It really depends on what happens during the convention, so I better be armed with places I want to visit and zip around....
