redesign

I have redesigned my site.

I'm not sure if any of you dpers remember, but the previous one was faulty and it kept on displaying html in the central frame.

This is just the bare bones, the content is being added later today, but i just wanted to know whether or not you guys thought the new ad layout/tos compliance was ok or not. And if anything should be changed, i would like to know now so that i don't have to overhaul the site again.

Well, it doesn't look to me like you really have much in layout "elements", just looks like a bunch of text and ads. It doesn't seem to be lining up properly in Firefox as well.

I would add some kind of header element at least and check it in FF.

 

Tall vertical skyscraper ad is in the middle of the page. That just makes the page look awkward. Also there is big white space at the bottom. Also the url and the title of the page don't match. The story is being wrapped around from right of the page which makes things weird... Bit confusing if you ask me.

I told you i was adding the content tonight! this was just a redesign of the site.
If you think that this is spam you can fuck off! I ended up on life support because of ghb. Im trying to create a usefull site for those who have been affected by the drug!

I can see a high CTR, so just bring in the traffic. It's fine.

The following is to ALL ADSENSE "NOOBS" NOT JUST THIS ONE This is what I think, and is not a go at you or your site.

I think that it is a mistake to put ads and publicize a site (by linking to it from a popular forum like this) that is not finished or 'under construction' here is why:

1 It's new, so it's not going to be getting 1000's of hits, so it is not going to be earning you any $$.. so there is no harm in NOT having ads on it from day 1.

2 If google look at it they may find it in violation of the Google AdSense Program Policies, and you don't want to be in violation of those. Read down the page and you will see "Your site must not contain broken links and must be launched, functioning, and easily navigable."
So if your site is NOT launched, functioning, and easily navigable and has broken links they COULD close your account. Is it worth the risk? So to just make it 100% clear.. it is against the TOS to put ads on a site that is not finished and working.

3 It will get indexed with little or false content, so when it does go live the ads will be wrong or PSA's

As you make the site, if you are going to have ads on it from day 1, take the images from this page and use them instead of the ad code to help you with your design:

1 will look like the ads so you can work out your design around them

2 no risk of clicking your own ads while you make the site.

3 you are not breaking any TOS


well, that's what the critters think on the whole "ads on new sites" topic. As for your design, there is not much of a "designed" feel to it, maybe make some nice graphics for the menu, blend the ads on the left, keep adding that content

 

So who is Smamming now??
