Don't just look at price alone.
I was referred to asmallorange by yfs1 and after signing up, I couldn't be happier with their service and their support.

BTW, welcome to DP forums :)

Personally I would go with someone like www.asmallorange.com as half this forum uses them and you would be hard pressed to see a complaint. I used to shop around all the time but I have come to realize that dependibility is the hardest thing to find.

Just email a difficult question to a few hosts and check response time ;)

If you do a search, you will find a hundred threads about this.

But, I will say that godaddy is cheap, but their service is sorry.

I pay 10 dollars a month over at Host Gator, and am very happy with it so far.

Like yfs1 said, asmallorange is always a good choice. Atleast that is what I have heard, I haven't made the switch...yet..:D

I heard GoDaddy lacks many features most companies provide, I think yfs1 knows more about it though.

First of all, GoDaddy isn't even the cheapest. They are OK if it is your first site ever but they have severe limitations. Their downtime has improved drastically but they aren't going after the knowledgable market. Their market are either people looking to put some static sites up that require no maintenance or absolute noobs.

They are fine for buying domains but as a host, you will find yourself wanting to go somewhere else as your needs grow.

NOT 1&1, First of all their cheapest plan doesnt even include MySQL databases.
Second, I have tried to cancel my account with them many times. At first, they told me that I had to send them a signed form because it was their policy. So I called and complained and the guy basically told me that he would see to it that it got cancelled. Well, 3 months later, BOOM! another charge on my bank statement. So being the stubborn man that I am, I payed the bank to block their charges. 6 months later they seem to have gotten around it or something and I am charged AGAIN! I still havent printed off that damn form.

This could have been easily solved in the beginning if my skull wasnt so thick but you get the point. 1&1 sucks.

I don't think you even said what you were looking for besides price.

Kind of hard to make any recommendation without knowing what kind of features you want and expectations you have.

Dependabilty - This is one of the most important key in web hosting. You are committing your online business based on your webhost becuase if your website is not available when you have a buyer in buying mode, you loose good amount of money. I would say go with a host who you can depend upon.
